.. include:: ../../variables.rst .. _training.tracks: Observer and Author Tracks ========================== A **track** is an ordered set of lessons on one topic. |APPNAME| has two: the **Observer Track**, for people who record hand-hygiene observations, and the **Author Track**, for people who build custom audits and surveys. Both tracks work the same way — only the lessons differ. To open a track, go to :blue:`Training` in the sidebar and choose :blue:`Observer Track` or :blue:`Author Track`, or click its card on the :ref:`Overview` page. .. figure:: /images/PLACEHOLDER-training-track.png :align: center TODO screenshot: a track page showing the progress bar and the numbered list of lessons, with completed lessons ticked. |br| At the top of the page a progress bar shows how many lessons you have finished — for example, ``3 of 8 lessons`` on the left and ``38%`` on the right. Below the bar is the list of lessons in order. Each lesson shows: * a number, or a green tick once the lesson is complete; * the lesson title; * the estimated reading time, such as ``~5 min``, with ``· completed`` added once you have finished it. Click any lesson to open it in the :ref:`lesson reader`. You can take the lessons in any order, but they are numbered in the sequence we recommend. When every lesson shows a green tick, the track is complete.
