System Backups

Probably one of the most terrifying things that can happen to your data is having it hacked or a server goes down and takes your data with it. We are keenly aware of that at clearPath. In fact, we don’t ever want that to happen. So how do we ensure that it never happens… backups lots of backups in multiple places.

Our backup strategy provides hourly, weekly and monthly backup that are kept on the clearPath server. Offsite backups are transferred to our server daily a sigmaIQ HQ. These backups are store on our primary server one for each day of the week. This server is backed up to our dedicated backup server. The backup server also backups to an S3 compatible server. These backups are stored and are immutable (cannot be changed). Finally a copy of the S3 backup are transferred to long term storage.

Incase that isn’t enough one additional back up is completed every day by our cloud provider. This is a single backup of the entire server that gets overwritten daily.

Bottom Line

Your data is kept on seven different servers, in three different locations, with two of the backup being immutable (can not be deleted, or changed).
